Storytelling
【FH Waldorf Dictionary 4|Storytelling】Storytelling, a human art form of expression🎨, has been used to pass on knowledge📖, culture, values and history since long ago and is now widely applied in both business and education sectors. This valuable element is also an essential teaching element in Waldorf Education🏡.
Many recent educational studies have found that incorporating storytelling in daily teaching allows students to integrate themselves into different scenarios and enable them to think from others' perspectives. In addition to stimulating children's imagination and creativity, storytelling can inspire their interest in learning, develop their sense of empathy and emotional expression, enrich their learning experience, and increase their learning efficiency.
Echoing these findings, our 🌳Forest House🌳 teachers tell our students stories every day to stimulate our student's imagination, develop their ability to listen attentively and understand and recall episodes of the stories. They also combine storytelling with other art expressions such as painting, drama, puppet shows, etc. 🎭 to enhance what the children have learned. It further inspires them to solve problems creatively💡and to love learning.
