Maryann稱自己為「花期較遲的教育者」。她在南非一間主流銀行工作了14年後,決定從事教育行業。直到她的兒子上高中時,她才加入南非開普敦的創意教育中心,並在2010年以優異成績獲得教育學士學位畢業。然後,Maryann先後在開普敦的Gaia華德福學校和Imhoff華德福學校擔任主班老師。在她休假的一年中,她繼續深造並在開普敦大學完成了教育學榮譽學位,專注於指導新任教師。 Maryann對教學充滿熱情,尤其是數學,她非常喜愛華德福的教學方法,這總是給她帶來許多靈感,在面向孩子們時也總是能找到有創意、有趣的方法。Maryann的教學充滿趣味並能促進學生持續學習。對於在香港教學並能夠學習中國文化,她感到非常開心。她期待為這所在香港的年輕並具開創性的學校的發展作出貢獻。

Toni, as she is affectionately known among her friends, joined the teaching profession after completing a 4-year bachelor’s degree in Waldorf education at the Centre of Creative Education in Cape Town, South Africa. She then did a 7-year cycle from Class 1 to Class 7 at Stellenbosch Waldorf School in South Africa. The followingyear, during her sabbatical, she mentored the new Class 1 teacher, assisted with administrative duties, did admission interviews for the new Class 1 children and filled in as the substitute teacher. Besides being a class teacher, Toni also served on the College of Teachers and the Board of Trustees as a teacher member. After Toni’s sabbatical year, she started in Class 1 again and left at the end of Class 2 to pursue a new adventure, coming to Hong Kong. During the two years that Toni worked at anotherWaldorf school in Hong Kong, she also did teacher training for aspiring young Waldorf teachers. Toni started her journey at Forest House Waldorf School in August 2024. Toni is passionate about the English language and the beauty of the written and spoken word. “Language offers us the possibility of richer communication and expression. This gift enables us to know each other better and offers us growth as human beings.” Toni is excited to be a part of the Forest House community.

He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Comparative Literature and English Linguistics, a Bachelor of Education in Language Education from The University of Hong Kong, and a Master’s in TESOL (with Distinction) from the University of Stirling, UK. His award-winning dissertation on dialogic classroom discourse in discipline-specific university language teaching received commendation from the British Council, reflecting his early interest in learner-centred, dialogical approaches that resonate with the core principles of Waldorf pedagogy. He brings 13 years of experience as lecturer of English for Academic Purposes (EAP) at The University of Hong Kong, where he developed a strong foundation in academic literacy instruction. Albert has also undertaken extensive subject knowledge training with the Royal Geographical Society of the UK. Deeply committed to Waldorf education, Albert brings a holistic and developmentally informed approach to teaching, integrating content and language as mutually enriching processes that foster academic rigour, literacy, and imaginative insights. He is now pursuing a Master of Arts in Waldorf Pedagogy at Alanus University, Germany

She later pursued degrees in Education and started her career across a range of school settings. To gain a deep understanding of how students in Hong Kong learn Chinese, she has taught year groups spanning from Year 1 to Year 13 and has worked across several curricula, including the Hong Kong Secondary Curriculum, the Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD), and the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP). She was first introduced to Waldorf education while studying Chinese medicine and found that its philosophy deeply resonated with her own beliefs. When the opportunity arose, she made the attempt to pursue a Waldorf teaching career with a view to championing its principles in the Hong Kong context. She now brings this wealth of international experience, curriculum expertise, and child-centred approach to our school community.

When the opportunity arose, she made the attempt to pursue a Waldorf teaching career with a view to championing its principles in the Hong Kong context. Heywood Mok is a passionate violin educator dedicated to nurturing young musicians. After completing her undergraduate studies at Hong Kong Metropolitan University, she spent over six years working with a range of non-profit organisations. Later she started her own business to fully utilize her knowledge in business management and has learnt a lot about the business world. After she gained her ACCA (Association of Chartered Certified Accountants) qualification and her first child was born, Wendy was introduced to and became attracted to the pedagogy of Waldorf Education. She is glad to join the Forest House family and is looking forward to growing together with the community to the next level.
