The Role
At Forest House, the Class Teacher accompanies the same group of students through the primary school cycle from Class 1 to Class 6, fostering continuity in learning and a deep understanding of each child’s development.
The Class Teacher leads Main Lesson blocks and core subjects, supports the academic and social development of the class, and works closely with colleagues and parents to nurture a healthy class community.
Responsibilities include:
Planning and teaching Main Lesson blocks and core subjects within the Waldorf curriculum
Supporting the academic, emotional, and social development of each child
Preparing student reports and assessments
Building positive partnerships with families through parent communication and meetings
Participating in faculty meetings and school activities
The Ideal Candidate
The successful candidate will be fluent in English and demonstrate:
A commitment to Waldorf pedagogy and child development
A deep interest in working with children and supporting their holistic development
Strong communication and interpersonal skills with colleagues and parents
The ability to work collaboratively within a small faculty
A willingness to grow with a developing school
Respect for local culture and the international context of Hong Kong
About Forest House Waldorf School
Forest House Waldorf School is a non-profit organisation dedicated to providing inclusive education, welcoming families from diverse cultural, religious, and social backgrounds.
Founded in 2016, Forest House is the first Waldorf school in Hong Kong registered with the Education Bureau. It began by offering primary education and expanded into secondary education in 2023. The school currently serves students from Class 1 to Class 9 and continues to grow steadily. As a developing Waldorf school in Asia, Forest House offers teachers the opportunity to contribute meaningfully to the development of Waldorf
education in Hong Kong and to work within a small and supportive school community.
We warmly invite trained and experienced Waldorf Class Teachers to join our faculty beginning August 2026 as our school continues to grow.
Qualifications Applicants should have:
A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
Waldorf teacher training, preferably in primary education
Experience as a Waldorf Class Teacher is highly desirable
Having completed a full Waldorf primary cycle will be considered an advantage Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
